I can't find "Security Folder"
on my "Desktop". What should I do? |
For security purpose, "Security Folder" will
only appear on your "Desktop" after logging
in Privacy-Security (PS).
Why does "Security Folder"
disappear after logging out Privacy-Security (PS)? |
After logging
out Privacy-Security (PS), "Security Folder"
on your desktop will be hidden, and all files of "Security
Folder" will be made inaccessible. This avoids anyone
else (including I.T. Administrators of your company) getting
and opening files and folders under "Security Folder".
I can't find "PS Security Tools" on the right-click
menu. What should I do? |
For security
purpose, "PS Security Tools" will only appear
on the right-click menu after logging in Privacy-Security
(PS).
I can't open those encrypted files (*.psf under "Security
Folder") that are linking to other encrypted files
(*.psf). What should I do? |
For security
and quick login purpose, all files under Security Folder
are still in encrypted state (*.psf) after logging in
Privacy-Security (PS). The best way to open any linked
files under "Security Folder" is to move all
relevant linked files out of "Security Folder"
to another folder and then right-click on the folder to
decrypt them altogether. In this way, file-linking error
will not occur during opening. After editing, you should
move them back to "Security Folder" for auto-encryption.

What does Auto-Cleaner of Privacy-Security
(PS) do? |
Most people do not realize that
Windows operating systems, Internet Explorers and many
other application programs store redundant information
on your hard drive. Not only does this information affect
your computer performance by occupying extra memory but
it also causes a potential crisis to your privacy.
When someone accesses your computer, no matter it's an
intruder, a hacker, your I.T. administrator or anyone
sharing your computer, they can use this information to
find out what websites you have visited, which pictures
you have viewed, what documents you have used and much
more.
Auto-Cleaner is used for cleaning up all this redundant
information on your computer, enhancing your system performance,
saving your system resources and protecting your privacy.
Does Auto-Cleaner of Privacy-Security
(PS) erase program files or system files? |
No! Auto-Cleaner will only safely erase unimportant
temp files and redundant system information to protect
your privacy and enhance system performance.
Why can't Auto-Cleaner fully clean
up the selected item(s)? |
Since Auto-Cleaner
doesn't clean objects that are still necessary for Windows,
the selected item(s) may not be fully cleaned up.
Why do I need "Secure-Delete"
of Privacy-Security (PS)? |
Just using
"Delete" and "Empty Recycle Bin" of
Windows cannot totally erase your private information.
Many "undelete" programs in the market can recover
deleted files and folders effectively. They can even recover
files and folders from a recently formatted drive. By
using "Secure-Delete", you can irrecoverably
delete files and folders to fully protect your privacy.

of Privacy-Security (PS). What should I do? |

computer, you may have problem with running "PS General
Tutorial". Please note that over 90% of computers
are already installed with Macromedia Flash Player. Please
go to http://www.macromedia.com

What is the difference between *.zip
files created by WinZip and *.zip files created by Privacy-Security
(PS) Professional? |
The sizes
of *.zip files created by Privacy-Security (PS) Professional
are generally less than that of *.zip files created by
WinZip. However, Privacy-Security (PS) Professional can
decompress *.zip files created by WinZip and WinZip can
also decompress *.zip files created by Privacy-Security
(PS) Professional.
Why aren't some files compressed
very much? |
Some types
of files can be compressed much more than others. For
example, *.txt and *.bmp files can be generally compressed
by up to 96%. Various multimedia files (e.g. *.gif, *.jpg,
*.wma, *.mpg files) are already highly compressed because
the standards for these file types specify efficient technique
to compress the content. Once a file has been compressed,
it typically cannot be compressed again to any significant
extent. As a result, such files don't get very much smaller
when they are compressed by Privacy-Security (PS).
