|
|
|
Why do I need "Secure Backup"
of Secure Backup System (SBS)? |
|
|
Backup
is important to avoid losing your important data. However,
just doing backup without secure protection will expose
your important backup data to potential crisis of being
stolen and seen. For example, your IT administrators can
easily access your backup data in Backup Server. Besides,
more copies of backup require more storage resources.
"Secure Backup" of Secure
Backup System (SBS) is used for avoiding this kind of
potential crisis and saving lots of storage resources
by compressing and encrypting your documents before saving
them on storage devices (e.g. CD-R, Backup Server, Zip
Drive etc). It can generate a folder containing compressed
and encrypted (by using SBS Login Password) copy of the
selected files/folders for secure backup purpose.

|
How can I decrypt *.sbs files quickly?
|
|
|
To decrypt
*.sbs files in the same directory, you can just select
*.sbs files and folders containing *.sbs files, and then
right-click to use [Decrypt Selected (*.sbs)]. All selected
files will then be decrypted and decompressed.
To decrypt *.sbs files in different directories, you can
use [Decrypt *.sbs Files] of [SBS Tools] on SBS Panel.
You can drag *.sbs files and folders containing *.sbs
files from different directories into the dialog to restore
them.
|
|
|
After changing my SBS Login Password,
will Secure Backup System (SBS) be able to decrypt my
previous *.sbs files that are encrypted by my previous
SBS Login Password? |
|
|
No matter
how many times you change your SBS Login Password, Secure
Backup System (SBS) can automatically make use of your
latest SBS Login Password to retrieve all those previous
SBS Login Passwords from its SBS System File (*.sbf) to
decrypt those *.sbs files encrypted by different used
SBS Login Passwords.

|
|
What does "SBS Self-Backup"
do? |
|
|
Since lots of important data
and all used passwords are kept in your Secure Backup
System (SBS), doing backup for Secure Backup System (SBS)
itself is also important. To fully back up the whole Secure
Backup System (SBS), you are just required to back up
its latest SBS System File by using "SBS Self-Backup".
This is because all SBS system data is stored in this
SBS System File. When your Secure Backup System (SBS)
is damaged by any reasons, you can fully recover it by
using the previous backed up SBS System File.
By using the latest SBS System File with the corresponding
latest User Name and Login Password, the latest state
of your Secure Backup System (SBS) can be fully recovered.
For detail, please refer to Section "SBS System File"
in Help Manual of the program or in the provided User
Guide.

|
|
What is the use of SBS System File? |
|
|
SBS System File contains all the latest system data
of Secure Backup System (SBS). It contains all used SBS
Login Passwords, all data of Secure Zone and all system
setting information. By using [SBS Self-Backup] to back
up the latest SBS System File, the latest state of your
Secure Backup System (SBS) can be fully recovered.
|
|
|
How can you protect my important
data and all used passwords kept in SBS System File? |
|
|
The content
of SBS System File is encrypted by our 1024-bit Secure
Encryption Technology. Without using the correct SBS Login
Password, nobody can make use of the SBS System File to
open SBS encrypted files (*.sbs) or reproduce your Secure
Backup System (SBS).

|
I can't run "General Tutorial"
of Secure Backup System (SBS). What should I do? |
|
|
Since Macromedia Flash Player is not installed on your
computer, you may have problem with running "SBS
General Tutorial". Please note that over 90% of computers
are already installed with Macromedia Flash Player. Please
go to http://www.macromedia.com

|
Why aren't some files compressed
very much? |
|
|
Some types of files can be compressed much more than
others. For example, *.txt and *.bmp files can be generally
compressed by up to 96%. Various multimedia files (e.g.
*.gif, *.jpg, *.wma, *.mpg files) are already highly compressed
because the standards for these file types specify efficient
technique to compress the content. Once a file has been
compressed, it typically cannot be compressed again to
any significant extent. As a result, such files don't
get very much smaller when they are compressed by Secure
Backup System (SBS).
